The Newroz message published by Germany Democratic Kurdish Society Center NAV-DEM said: “This year, we will celebrate Newroz in Frankfurt on 23 March with the spirit of the resistance: let's break isolation, Let’s destroy fascism, let’s free Kurdistan.”

Underlining the hunger strike resistance led by DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven and the fascist policies of the AKP-MHP alliance, NAV-DEM added: “The Kurdish people and the Freedom Movement are today facing the cruel Dehak represented by DAESH and the AKP-MHP fascism.”

"We need to work actively against the massacre"

The message continued: “We will celebrate Newroz in Frankfurt and we will pay tribute to the victory spirit of Zülküf Gezen and his historic sacrificing action, we’ll celebrate the military defeat of DAESH in Rojava and of course the historic hunger strike resistance taking place in many different cities and countries.”

NAV-DEM said that this year’s Newroz celebrations should by joined by large crowds. "All our community centers and components should invite foreign friends, institutions and personalities, representatives of civil society organizations to the Newroz celebrations.”

The statement also emphasized the need to increase the actions in support of the hunger strikes.

"This time - said the statement - we are allowed to offer all facilities in the Newroz venue. We expect all sections of the community to join the celebration with their families, neighbours and acquaintances."
