NAV-DEM calls for action on May 26

NAV-DEM announced the protest calendar for May 26 Global Day of Action and called for a strong participation in the demonstrations.

NAV-DEM (German Democratic Kurdish Community Center) issued a written statement on the Global Day of Action to be held on May 26 against Turkish invasion.

The statement points out that the Turkish state is attempting to systemically change the demographic makeup of Kurdistan with their invasion attacks in Rojava, Bakur and Bashur and continues:

“BUILDING A TERRORIST REGIME”

“Deportations, looting, abductions and torture are but some of the outcomes of Turkey’s invasion war in Afrin. The Turkish airstrikes in Afrin were made possible with tanks coming from Germany, Russia’s greenlighting and NATO’s support. With support from these powers, using the most advanced aerial and terrestrial technological warfare, together with their army and all the warring gangs and Islamist terrorists, the Turkish state has managed to set up a terrorist regime in a region where only a short while ago gender equality, democracy and pluralism reigned and it was possible to coexist.

As NAV-DEM, we will support the protests organized throughout the world by the Kurdish people and their allies against the Turkish state’s invasion attacks in Kurdistan with high participation.”

The statement lists demonstrations to be held in Germany’s Berlin, Hannover, Munich, Cologne and other provinces and calls for strong participation to central and local protests.
