MSD makes official visit to Damascus

A delegation from the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) made an official visit to Damascus on the invitation of the Syrian government.

A delegation from the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) made an official visit to Damascus on the invitation of the Syrian government.

According to ANHA, the MSD delegation held the Damascus visit on the basis of bilateral dialogue.

The topics of discussion between the two sides have not been made public.

According to French news agency AFP, MSD Co-chair Riyad Derar said they held the “first official visit to Damascus” on invitation by the Bashar al-Assad government.

Derar added that they “are working in favor of a solution for Northern Syria,” and pointed out that they expect a positive outcome from the meetings. Derar stressed that there are no prerequisites in the meetings.

There are reportedly high level political and military officials in the delegation.
