MSD's Ehmed at European Parliament: Turkey must be punished!

Ilham Ehmed, chair of the Executive Board of the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD), spoke at a meeting in the European Parliament.

MSD Executive Board chair, Ilham Ehmed, held a press conference at the European Parliament. She called on the international community to take responsibility and act against the attacks of the Turkish state in the North and East Syrian Federation.

Ehmed recalled that the peoples of North and Eastern Syria have given 11 thousand martyrs in the fight against ISIS and added that 25 thousand people were wounded. “There is a possibility that ISIS may reorganize itself”, warned Ehmed.

She added that, after the deceptional decision by the US, the European Union and the UN Security Council must "establish a no-fly zone over Northern and Eastern Syria and declare Turkey in violation of international law. Turkey must be punished for the displacement it will cause."

Ehmed said that there is a need for "urgent action" and that they are satisfied with the response, but noted that Turkey "should be punished for what they did."

Ehmed said that the Syrian regime should take an “open attitude against the Turkish occupation."

MSD Co-Chair Riyad Derar also spoke at the meeting. Derar said that imprisoned ISIS fighters are very dangerous and that they can rebel in prisons and added that the Autonomous Administration needs support to protect the prisons.
