In Strasbourg, 14 Kurdish activists have been on hunger strike for 119 days against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan. Mothers of martyrs visited the activists yesterday and warned that it may soon be "way too late".
Despite the continuing deterioration of their health, the 14 Kurdish activists in Strasbourg continue their hunger strike against the isolation of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan for 119 days. Only yesterday, KCDK-E (European Kurdish Democratic Society Congress) Co-chair Yüksel Koç and lawyer Deniz Sürgüt were hospitalized. However, they refused any treatment and continued their action.
Mothers addressed to the people and institutions
Nure Sincar, during her visit yesterday, particularly appealed to the Kurds living in Europe to expand their actions. She called for participation in the protests and emphasized, "It is your children who are resisting today in prisons." The people should rise up collectively, and then the resistance will succeed, she emphasized.
Mother of Kurdish martyr: Tomorrow is too late!
Ayten Sünger, mother of Adil Sünger (Lecwan Munzur), who fell in the 2016 in the Kurdish struggle for freedom, called on the Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) and on the European Union to put pressure on Turkey. Warning that the hunger strikers were approaching death each day, she called for participation in the protests in solidarity with hunger strikes: "If we do not support the fight today, it will be too late tomorrow."
Solidarity visits continue
The hunger strike activists in Strasbourg were also visited by many initiatives yesterday. Yesterday solidarity visits came from Cologne, Bremen, Metz and St. Gallen, as well as many other places.
