Montataire city council shows support for HDP

Montataire commune city council in France’s Oise region protested the usurpation of HDP municipalities and called on the French government to issue a strong condemnation.

Several city councils in France have condemned the Turkish state takeover of HDP municipalities in recent days.

The latest addition has been the Montataire city council.

Mayor and Oise Provincial Council member Jean-Pierre Bosino said, “Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his AKP are trying to get back into the cities by force after being kicked out in local elections.”

Bosino said the Montataire city council has a strong tradition of international solidarity and added that they supported Agri Co-mayor Mukaddes Kubilay in the March 2019 elections.

Bosino said he stands with the France-Kurdistan association’s call for the French government to condemn the attacks against democracy in Turkey.

Before Mayor Bosino, Vitry-sur-Seine’s Mayor Jean-Claude Kennedy, Champigny-Sur-Marne’s Mayor Christian Fautré, Villiers-le-Bel’s Mayor Jean-Louis Marsac and Rennes Mayor Nathalie Appéré had condemned the usurpation of HDP municipalities, shown support for the HDP and called on the French government to take action.
