Masses overcome the police barricade in Cologne

People have overcome the police barricade in the demonstration against the Turkish state’s invasion operation against Afrin in Cologne city of Germany.

Tens of thousands are joining a demonstration in the German city of Cologne to protest the Turkish state’s invasion operation against Afrin Canton of Northern Syria.

Kurds in the Germany, leftist movements from Turkey, German democratic circles, Armenians, Circassians, Syriacs and Alevis are participating in the mass march that started at 11.00 with the slogan, “Against colonialist and invasionist attempts, Everywhere Afrin, Everywhere Resistance”.

German police obstructed the mass on the grounds that they held images of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The police, however, had to retreat in the face of the determination of the demonstrators who overcame the police barricade, chanting “Long Live Afrin resistance” in protest at the police intervention.

The demonstration contiues.

German poliçe had harshly intervened in the march organized by 43 institutions and organisations in Dusseldorf on November 4, 2017.
