Marseille, Athens and Vienna in solidarity with Rojava

Marches and actions were held throughout Europe to protest the Turkish invasion of Rojava and in solidarity with the people of Northern and Eastern Syria.

Today was "day of action" for Rojava. Dozens of actions and demos were held around Europe.

MARSEILLE

A march was held in Marseille to condemn the Turkish occupation and express solidarity with Rojava.

The Saturday afternoon march started on Canabiere Square and ended up in Vieux Port.

Thousands of people participated in the march carrying photos of the victims, many of whom children, of the Turkish airstrikes.

A statement was read at the rally in Vieux Port square after a minute of silence for the martyrs of freedom. 

ATHENS

A march took place in Athens and arrived at the Turkish embassy.

Hundreds of Kurds gathered in Akademia Square to join the march organised by the Kurdistan Cultural Center and the Revolutionary Youth Movement, as well as anarchist and leftist groups.

The crowd came before the Turkish Embassy frequently shouting the slogan “Fascist Erdogan"...

Speeches were made on behalf of Kurdistan Cultural Center, Revolutionary Youth Movement and leftist groups.

The speeches condemned the Turkish occupation and expressed solidarity with the Rojava resistance. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was asked to be brought to justice for the crimes he committed.

VIENNA

A rally was held in Vienna to condemn the Turkish occupation of Rojava. People at the rally chanted slogans in support of the people and the resistance of Rojava.
