Marseille against isolation

“Resisting we will win. Let’s step up the resistance. Let’s put an end to isolation.”

Protests against the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and in solidarity with the hunger strikes are continuing in Marseille.

A rally was held on Saturday at Joliette Square. The rally began with a minute’s silence in memory of the martyrs for freedom and the reading of a statement in French.

Activists were carrying photographs of the hunger strikers and banners asking to “give voice to the hunger strike”.

Kurdish politician Xebat Öcalan addressed the crowd saying: “Resisting we will win. Let’s step up the resistance. Let’s put an end to isolation.”
