March in solidarity with hunger strike resistance in Ecuador

A march was held in Quito, Ecuador, in solidarity with the Kurdish political prisoners on hunger strike in Turkey.

The march began in the Tribune of the Shyris and had as its destination the Turkish Embassy in Quito.

The organizers of the activity said that 20 years after the imprisonment of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in a maximum security prison in Turkey, it is necessary to step up the fight for his freedom.

For those who participated in the march, the leader and founder of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) represents the resistance of the Kurdish people to the incessant aggressions by the government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the event in front of the Turkish embassy, Ecuadorian activists recalled that on 8 November 2018, in protest against Turkish state practices, the HDP Hakkari deputy, Leyla Güven, along with thousands of Kurdish political prisoners, went on hunger strike to demand the end of isolation against Ocalan.
