Manbij Military Council sends 200 fighters to Tabqa

Manbij Miilitary Council has sent 200 fighters to Tabqa to support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in their operation to liberate the region from ISIS occupation.

As the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue their Operation Wrath of Euphrates to liberate the Tabqa city and Euphrates Dam, Manbij Military Council (MMC) has also joined the offensive on Tabqa city of Raqqa province.

200 fighters of the Manbij Military Council have arrived in Tabqa region with their arms and military equipment Sunday evening and started moving towards the Tabqa city center.

Manbij Military Council Commander Giwara Minbic, who commands a 200 person force, said they have joined the operation as a “duty of loyalty”.

Commander Giwara stressed that they have not forgotten the support and sacrifice SDF fighters provided them during the operation to liberate Manbij, saying the following: "

"We cleared Manbij with their support. The people and fighters of Manbij did not forget the sacrifices of SDF. Our city has been liberated but now the people of Tabqa are also waiting to be freed from the gangs as the Manbij people did back then. We as Manbij Military Council feel indebted to support SDF fighters and fight the ISIS in this operation."

Giwara noted that they are joining the operation with 200 fighters for now, and that they could include more fighters in the operation to liberate Tabqa when they considered it necessary.
