HILDESHEIM

Kurds living in Hildesheim city of Germany started a tent demonstration at a central spot to bring the aggravated isolation on Öcalan to the agenda. Demonstrators hand out fliers and leaflets informing about the situation of the Kurdish people's leader.

Speaking here, NAV-DEM Hildesheim Spokesperson Letif Karataş said their demonstration will continue for 4 days, remarking that they demand freedom for the Kurdish leader and condemn the AKP-MHP regime of Turkey that subjects him to an absolute isolation. Karakaş said: “We will be standing by our Leader who continues his struggle for all the world's peoples with his freedom idea and new paradigm.”

Hildesheim Council Co-chair Ali Kocademir said Öcalan's freedom is tantamount to the Kurdish people's freedom and him being held captive means all the Middle Eastern peoples being held captive. Kocademir called for radical demonstrations to enhance the struggle for Öcalan's freedom.

Hildesheim Council Co-chair Hayat Donma and Women's Commune Member Çeçi Donma also condemned the Turkish state for the isolation they impose on the Kurdish leader, and the German state for banning the flags and symbols of Kurdish parties and organisations, pointing out the cooperation between ISIS and AKP.
