Kurds' hearings held in Stuttgart

Several hearings in cases against Kurdistani patriots were held in Stuttgart, Germany this week.

The 8th hearing in the case against Kurdish politicians Veysel S., Agit K., Evrim A., Ozkan T. (on remand) and Cihan A. (at liberty) was held on July 25 and 26 in the Stammheim Prison Court Room in Stuttgart. A State Criminal Police Office (LKA) Chief Commissioner gave a witness testimony on Thursday and Federal Chief Public Prosecutor Dr. Udo Weiss on Friday.

After a 21 day break in the case, the chief judge started the hearing if lawyers were present, and said the hearing would not be held if they were not in attendance.

The Stuttgart police chief commissioner gave a witness testimony for the first time in the case. The lawyers objected to the LKA Commissioner’s testimony and said, “He can say if there is something outside of the matters discussed in the casefile, otherwise this is repetition and a waste of time.”

The LKA Commissioner said, “During the investigation phase, crime scene investigation found nothing. Ridvan O. [state informant] said in his statement that he was abducted and threatened, which triggered the investigation.”
The commissioner continued: “A car was used when Ridvan O. was abducted, but we have the car, and there is no information or evidence in it.” Ridvan O. went to the criminal police on June 18 this year and said, “Here is your 800 euros you gave me. I don’t want to be in the protection program any more. If you want you can send me to Greece or Kurdistan and I will continue to work for you there, under an alias.”

Photographs of informant Ridvan O. were put up on the screen in the hall. Agit K.’s lawyer Fatma Sayin objected and said, “What are you trying to say exactly? These actions have no understandable aspect. On one hand you say the court must advance, then you lose time with such ineffable pictures.”

Federal Chief Prosecutor Dr. Udo Weiss gave testimony on Friday July 26. The prosecutor didn’t want to respond to many questions by the lawyers, and the lawyers demanded a fine against Dr. Weiss. The objections were overruled and the case was postponed to August 1, Thursday at 10:30.

Meanwhile, Kurdish patriot Semsettin B.’s hearing was held in the Stuttgart State Court on July 25. Semsettin B. and his lawyer were present in the hearing. Phone calls by B. as he went about his life were played out in the court.
The hearing was postponed to July 30, 09:30.

Another hearing during the week was Salih K.’s, held on July 22 and 24 in the Stuttgart State Court. Salih K. and his lawyer Anna Bushl were present in the hearing. Lawyer Bushl questioned informant Ridvan O. The hearing will continue on August 5.
