Kurdish press paid tribute to hunger strikers

Memed Drewş spoke to the press on behalf of the Kurdish press representatives who visited the hunger strikers. “We hope that what you have showed us here today and the hunger strike in prisons and the other cities will actually end the isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.”

Suna Tunç said that hunger strikers are reaching a critical stage as far as their health is concerned. She added that the Kurdish press has the duty to stand beside the Kurdish people and their struggle.

Life-long press worker Ape Sinan said that everyone should pay respect to the people putting their body and their health at risk to demand the end of isolation.

He added that he had not been able to join the hunger strike because of health problems.

Another press worker, Aslan Aslan, pointed out that Europe unfortunately has become Turkish President Erdogan’s partner in crime with its silence.

Journalist Gülistan Ike underlined how this “resistance has changed the sense of life upside down.” She drew attention to the risk taken by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven for her life.
