Kurdish district governor in Tuz Khurmatu replaced by a Turkmen

District council in Tuz Khurmatu convened on Thursday without the Kurdish members and removed the district’s Kurdish governor Şelal Ebdûl from duty, replacing him with Turkmen Hasan Zeynel El Abidin.

The district council convened on Thursday in the Tuz Khurmatu district in the Salahaddin province which was taken over by the Iraqi army and Hashd al-Shaabi forces under them on October 16, 2017 and removed the district’s Kurdish governor Shelal Ebdûl from duty, replacing him with Turkmen Hasan Zeynel El Abidin.

Kurdish members were not invited to the meeting of the district council, with 7 Kurdish, 7 Arab and 7 Turkmen members, and the council convened with 11 of the Arab and Turkmen members. Shelal Ebdûl was removed from duty in the meeting where Shia Turkmen Hasan Zeynel El Abidin, known to have activities in the Bedir Brigades within the Hashd al-Shaabi, replaced him.

After a committee that includes members of the Turkish MİT went to Kirkuk and met with Arabs and Turkmens on Wednesday, the Tuz Khurmatu district governor was removed from duty onThursday.
