Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) congratulated the liberation of Manbij in its written statement. KNK noted that the city was liberated from colonialist and bloody ISIS gangs after a long and difficult war, and described the victory in Manbij as the beginning of a new period in the history of Rojava.

'A NEW PERIOD BEGINS'

In its statement, KNK recalled that ISIS gangs had conquered Manbij during the civil war in Syria and made it their second biggest base in the country. Due to its strategic importance, Manbij was used as the center in which the gangs planned and organized their attacks. KNK pointed out that the liberation of Manbij meant the unification of Rojava cantons, the effective implementation of the federal system and the securing of the gains of Rojava Revolution. KNK emphasized that a new period in Rojava Revolution began with the liberation of Manbij city.

Kurdistan National Congress emphasized that great labor, will, and sacrifice made the liberation of Manbij possible, and commemorated Martyr Commander Faysal Abû Leyla and other fighters that fell as martyrs during the operation. KNK said that with their heroism, Manbij martyrs put up a strong resistance against the gangs. KNK congratulated all fighters that participated in the operation to liberate Manbij, and called upon all Kurds to celebrate the liberation of Manbij and the revolution in Rojava.
