Kemalbay released with foreign travel ban

HDP Caucus Member Serpil Kemalbay has been released with parole and a foreign travel ban.

Former Co-chairperson for Peoples’ Democratic Party (Halkların Demokratik Partisi - HDP) and Caucus Member Serpil Kemalbay was referred to the prosecutor’s office following the 7-day detention period and the processing in the police headquarters. Kemalbay was then released after giving a deposition to the prosecutor with parole and a foreign travel ban.

TARGETED BY ERDOĞAN AND HIS MEDIA

Serpil Kemalbay had been targeted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the government’s media for her speech about the Afrin resistance in the HDP congress on February 11, and consequently been detained.

Kemalbay went on a hunger strike in custody.
