KDCK-E calls on people to protest today at 6 pm

The KCDK-E called on Kurds and people to take to the streets this evening in Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan against the seizure of HDP municipalities by the AKP regime.

The European Democratic Kurdish Society Congress (KCDK-E) Co-Presidency Council issued a written statement about the seizure of the HDP-run municipalities of Amed, Mardin and Van by the AKP-MHP regime.

In the statement the KCDK-E said: "The dictatorship of the palace struck Amed, Van and Mardin Metropolitan Municipalities in revenge of the defeat it received at the last 31 March elections."

The statement added: "Amed Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Adnan Selçuk Mızraklı, Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Ahmet Türk and Van Metropolitan Municipality Bedia Özgökçe Ertan have been dismissed and colonial governors have been appointed.

After the municipalities were raided and the will of the people seized, several houses were raided and over 400 politicians from HDP and DBP as well as municipality employees have been taken into custody."

We should all react to this usurpation!

The KCDK-E said: "This usurpation carried out by the fascist AKP-MHP alliance, which targeted the will of millions is an attack on the whole society. All progressive forces, intellectual, revolutionary, democratic and society forces  living in Turkey must oppose this new usurpation.

International institutions and organizations, European states should play their roles and end their silence and react to this new coup."

Urgent action at 6 pm

The KCDK-E condemned "the seizure of the will of the people and urge our people to protest in Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan. The appointment everywhere is at 6 pm."
