KCK calls for national unity based on democratic values

KCK calls upon all parties to work on achieving the national unity that’s based on democratic principles and values, not nationalism.

In a message addressed to the workshop in Sulaymaniyah KCK said, “our real problem and point of discussion is if we will construct national unity on democratic principles and values or on nationalist approaches” and warned about the effects of nationalism on Kurds.

“It’s important that we are discussing the basic principles and values of the Kurdish national unity that we are trying to achieve. This means that we are on the main point of the national unity problem” the message read.

KCK said the choice between democratic values and nationalism will determine not only the future of Kurds but the future of peoples of the Middle East. The organization warned of endless wars with nation-states if Kurds pick nationalism over democratization.

“No other ideology other than democratic principles and values will contain multi-colored Kurdish society,” KCK said.

KCK presented 12 principles for a democratic national unity to the workshop and vowed that the organization is ready o fulfill every duty on the road to achieving Kurdish national unity.

KCK’s message was addressed to the national unity workshop organized by Kurdistan National Congress in Sulaymaniyah.
