KCDK-E to take over Freedom for Öcalan Vigil on 7th anniversary

The KCDK-E announced that they would take over the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg on 25 June.

In a written statement, the KCDK-E co-presidency Council confirmed that they will take over the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil and called on all Kurds to join in the longest action organised by Kurdish people in Europe on 25 June, to celebrate the anniversary of the Vigil.

Indeed, the Vigil began on 25 June 2012, and this year the KCDK-E will mark the 7th anniversary of the action. “The Vigil this year - said the statement - coincided with the historic hunger strike and death fast resistance demanding the end of isolation. This historical resistance was successful as it forced the fascist ruling government to take a step back. The message sent from Imrali by Leader Apo gave great hope to people as to the solution of the Kurdish issue and the problems of the Middle East. It is clear that Leader Apo is the interlocutor in any negotiation for peace and democracy.”

The KCDK-E stated that the struggle should continue with determination in order to secure Öcalan working and living conditions in freedom.

The statement confirmed that the KCDK-E will take over the Vigil on 25 June at 11 am and will be holding it till 29 June.

The KCDK-E also added that on 29 June a mass event will be organised to pass over the Vigil to another group.
