Iraqi army protests Turkish invasion attacks

Iraq Joint Operations Center Spokesperson Yahya Zubeydi spoke to Voice of America Radio and protested the Turkish state’s invasion attacks in Southern Kurdistan.

Iraq Joint Operations Center Spokesperson Yahya Zubeydi pointed to the presence of Iraqi army forces in Shengal and peshmerga forces in the vicinity of Qandil and stated that these forces are on duty to protect the borders and the independence of Iraqi lands.

Iraq Joint Operations Center Spokesperson Yahya Zubeydi said: “Our army forces are in Shengal now. The peshmerga are in the vicinity of Qandil. These forces are forces of Iraq’s defense system. The duty of these forces is to protect Iraq’s borders and independence.”

Zubeydi added: “And we will not consent to Iraqi lands being used by other forces. We relayed this to Turkey countless times. We also said we will not let other forces invade our lands. I had no knowledge of the Turkish army forces entering the Bermize village and holding a meeting with the people.”
