Iraqi army captures 40 villages and hamlets of Hawija from ISIS

The Iraqi army announced that they have cleansed 40 villages of Hawija of ISIS gangs. Meanwhile, Hashd al-Shaabi forces start to move towards the district from the south.

The operation launched by the Iraqi army and Hashd al-Shaabi forces to take Kirkuk's Hawija district from ISIS is in its 3rd day. Hashd al-Shaabi forces have opened a new front and started to move towards the district from the south.

Since the launch of the campaign for Hawija from the Sherqat town northwest of the district, 40 villages and hamlets have been cleansed of ISIS gangs, according to the statement of the Iraqi army.

On the other hand, the 16th, 18th and 52nd units from Hashd al-Shaabi forces have gone into action to liberate the villages of Zerge south of Hawija.
