Internationalists marching from Luxembourg to Strasbourg condemned the police crackdown on activists marching from Mannheim to Strasbourg.

Participants of the Internationalist Long March who are heading from Luxembourg to Strasbourg held a press conference condemning the German police attack against activists in the Long March from Mannheim to Strasbourg.

The statement, read in English, German and Kurdish is as follows;

“At this moment, there are three long marches for the freedom of Abdullah Ocalan going on in Europe. We are a group of internationalists from different countries and we are one of these three marches.

Today, the German state has attacked the Kurdish people in three different kind of ways. The Mesopotamia Publishing and Mîr Music were emptied and closed by the police. The long march that the youth started in Mannheim got stopped and the friends were arrested by the police.

We blame the German police for their act of breaking the freedom of speech. In behalf of the Turkish state, demands of millions of people are ignored. We as the internationalist march cannot accept the act of the German state. The demands of Leyla Guven and hundreds of other people in hunger strike have to be accepted. For these reasons, we are for the freedom of Abdullah Ocalan.”
