Internationalist martyr Constantine commemorated in Kiel

A memorial event was held in Kiel, the birthplace of internationalist fighter Constantin (Andok Cotkar), who fell martyr on October 16 during the resistance to the Turkish occupation attacks in Rojava.

Family members of international fighter joined the memorial together with Anti Fa, Kurdish Association, MLCP, Alevi Community, Feminist Women Group and  the family of international fighter Ivana Hoffman, who lost their lives in 2015. Many internationalist fighters also took part in the memorial.

After a minute silence, Andok Cotkar's father made a speech. He said that Andok took his place in the YPG-YPJ ranks fighting for human dignity and sacrificed himself for humanity. He added that he was proud of his son.

Cotkar's mother said: "My son was a child who loved sharing. He always meant well. He saw the problem of others as his own, and for this he took his place in the Rojava revolution. He went where he wanted and he was happy there."

Then mothers of martyrs said: "Today is an honorable day for us, this war is a war for humanity, a war for all peoples."

After the showing of a video, Hozan Cömert took the stage. Hozan Cömert said during the concert: "Martyrs say the last word, martyrs open the way to humanity".

Ivana Hoffman's mother said: “Our children fell martyr in this way, but they always live in our hearts." 

Many internationalist fighters and a representative on behalf of the Feminist Women's Group also spoke at the event, while a written statement was read on behalf of the MLCP fighters. 

The memorial ended with poetry and music.
