Iba's hunger strike discussed in Canada Federal Parliament

Garnett Genius from the main opposition party, the Conservative, drew attention to rights violations in Turkey and to the hunger strike by Iba.

Yusuf İba reached the 84th day of hunger strike in Toronto, Canada.

He is demanding the end of isolation against the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and his hunger strike has been discussed in the Federal Parliament on Thursday.

Deputy Garnet Genuis brought Iba's action to the parliamentary agenda, saying the assembly needed to listen to the hunger striker’s voice.

The indefinite hunger strike resistance led by the DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven, to demand the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, has turned into a big and much participated action.

Yusuf Iba, a Kurdish activist living in Toronto has gone on hunger strike 83 days ago at the Kurdish Community Centre. He has been experiencing health problems, yet he has confirmed his determination and will to continue the hunger strike.  

The Canadian Federal Parliament has brought the hunger strike on the agenda and deputy Genius has asked the assembly to listen to Iba’s demand and to put pressure on Turkey.
