Hunger striker Şiş: We will break the isolation

Despite the physical problems after 60 days of fast, Şiş said he is in good spirit and recalled that tomorrow, 15 February, would be the 20th anniversary of the international conspiracy which led to the capture of Ocalan and invite everyone to stand up.

Ilhan Şiş (Imam Şiş) has been on hunger strike for 60 days in the city of Newport, Wales, demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Şiş has been suffering from several health problems and doctors confirmed that he is losing weight faster than he should.

The hunger striker is carrying out his action at the Democratic Kurdish Community Center, and according to the doctors, he suffers from low tension and this poses a great risk.

Weight loss has been great and white cells in his blood are very low and this increases the risk of infection. Şiş has lost 14 pounds.

Şiş has also complained about severe headache, stomach pain, muscular tingling, fatigue and dizziness, but he confirmed his intention to continue with the hunger strike.

Despite the physical problems after 60 days of fast, Şiş said he is in good spirit and recalled that tomorrow, 15 February, would be the 20th anniversary of the international conspiracy which led to the capture of the Kurdish People’s Leader and invited everyone to stand up and demonstrate.

“Leyla Güven who was on hunger strike for about 100 days was taken to hospital yesterday. - said Şiş - Her situation is critical, and so is that of other friends. I believe is not human to stay and do nothing in this process. Existing actions are not enough. Twenty years ago we were ready to give our bodies, and so we are today. We are ready to pay any price, we are ready to give our lives. Even if the whole world remains silent, our cry and resistance will continue. Everyone should know that.”
