Members of mine clearing organization TETROTIK and Construction Committee under Raqqa City Council held a meeting in Girê Spî to discuss how Raqqa city will be cleared of mines after its liberation from ISIS in late October.

TETROTIK members provided information to the committee regarding their works in the city ongoing since the liberation, noting that several areas including Al-Mashlab and Tayar neighborhoods have been cleared of ISIS mines so far.

Members of the Construction Committee called attention to the presence of mines in large numbers of areas including schools, and asked for help from TETROTIK to defuse these mines.

Raqqa Construction Committee Deputy Chairperson Mihemed Nezmî remarked that the main goal of the meeting was to ensure the safety of civilians and said; “We shared information about all mined areas in the city with the mine clearing organization. We want to enhance our efforts and ensure a safe return for residents in the soonest time possible.”
