HDP office raided, co-chairs detained in Muş

Police raided the HDP office and houses of co-chairs of the party in Muş province.

As part of the ongoing political genocide operations against the Kurdish people, police forces carried out an operation against the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Muş province early this morning.

HDP provincial branch co-chairs Ferhat Çakı and Muhlise Karagüzel, and Kudbettin Çelik were taken into custody during house raids. Following a detailed search in the houses targeted in the operation, police also raided the HDP office in the city center.

Condemning the raids, HDP Muş MP Mensur Işık said the following; “These operations aim to intimidate our party which has sought to do democratic politics for years. While the fascist AKP-MHP bloc is weakening every day, our people are increasingly claiming their party. For this reason, the fascist regime tries to intimidate us. A number of party members have been arrested recently. Still, they should not forget that we will never give up nor take a step back at any cost. We will always fight to build democratic politics and peace.”
