HDP nominates new candidates to replace the vetoed

New candidates have been put up to replace the candidates vetoed by the YSK. Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki will be replacing İdris Baluken and Zeynel Özen will be replacing Turgut Öker.

The Supreme Board of Elections (Yüksek Seçim Kurulu - YSK) vetoed some parliamentary candidates on the Peoples’ Democratic Party (Halkların Demokratik Partisi - HDP) lists, and the HDP has put up new candidates to replace the vetoed.

HDP’s YSK member Mehmet Rüştü Tiryaki has been nominated for the first spot in the Batman list, to replace Idris Baluken whose 9 year and 2 month prison sentence was approved after his candidacy was announced.

Zeynel Özen will be replacing Turgut Öker, Honorary President of the European Alevi Unions Confederation (AABK), for the first spot in the Istanbul Zone 3 list.

Şırnak first spot candidate Abdullah Güngen whose candidacy was vetoed for restitution of divested rights was replaced by Hasan Özgüneş. Fourth spot holder Nuran İmir was moved up to the second spot to replace current Şırnak MP Leyla Birlik, and Serdar Küni was put up for the fourth spot.

Bursa Zone 1 candidate Yüksek Akgün was also replaced by Adnan Şahin due to a veto.

Second spot candidate for Antep KESK worker Bedriye Yorgun was also vetoed, and replaced by Berivan Özpolat Şimşek.
