Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP for Muş, Burcu Çelik who was detained in Muş province earlier today and was later referred to court, has been remanded in custody.

With Çelik's arrest, the number of imprisoned HDP deputies rose to 14.

In a statement on Çelik's arrest, HDP said that: "Following the illegitimate referendum, the first action has been the arrest our Muş MP Burcu Çelik. The government remains standing by means of unlawful acts."
