HDP Mardin Provincial co-chair remanded in custody

HDP Mardin Provincial co-chair, who had been taken into custody on 30 January 30, was remanded in custody.

HDP Mardin Provincial co-chair Ali Sincar was targeted by Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu after the presentation of candidates for the next local elections on January 30.

On 7 February, 13 people, included HDP provincial co-chairs and executives were taken into custody during house raids.

HDP provincial co-chair Eylem Amak, provincial administrators Abidin Unay, Adil Basaran, Halil Yagan, Sehmuz Çalkan and Huseyin Alper, members Vedat Abukan, Ferhat Kalkan, Abdülbari Akalan, Musa Binbir and Kahraman Samaras and DBP Party Assembly member Beritan Önen were referred to the court.

HDP Mardin provincial co-chair Ali Sincar was remanded in custody on charges of “making propaganda for an illegal organization.”

The 12 HDP people referred to the court were released by a judicial control application.
