HDP deputies to start hunger strike in Parliament

Hunger strikes demanding an end to the isolation of Kurdish leader Öcalan are spreading.

10 deputies of the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party), including co-chair Pervin Buldan, will launch a hunger strike in the Turkish Parliament against the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı High Security Island Prison.

The hunger strike will start after the party group meeting on Tuesday, and will last two days.

Alongside the action of the deputies in the Parliament, HDP has sent an instruction to all provincial branches of the party to start 3-day hunger strikes in all cities where the party is organised. These actions will start on December 3rd and see the participation of deputies as well on the 4th.
