Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Leyla Güven is on day 133 of indefinite hunger strike demanding an end to the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Leyla Güven released a message marking Kurdish New Year Newroz on her Twitter account, which said the following;

“Esteemed people of Amed, history hasn’t forgotten the Newroz days when you wrote an epic. Amed! The name of this year’s Newroz is #ZülküfGezen. Let’s salute comrade Zülküf, who returned to his land after 12 years, from the Newroz area. I will be there with all my heart and soul. And you shall be my body in the Newroz area.”
