German MP not allowed into the Parliament because of Erdogan

"All laws are being trampled just because Erdogan is meeting with Merkel."

There are unprecedented security measures in place for the Turkish President Erdogan’s visit to Berlin as the German state’s guest. Die Linke MP Stefan Liebich was not allowed into the Federal Parliament for Erdogan’s security.

German MP Liebich issued a statement on his social media accounts and said he wasn’t allowed into the Federal Parliament by the security.

Liebich said all entrances around the parliament were closed off for opposition MPs during Erdogan’s meeting with Chancellor Merkel and protested the Merkel government.

Die Linke MP Liebich relayed the dialogue he had with the security: “I wasn’t allowed in even though I told them I was an MP. You realize how absurd that is. Because Erdogan visits the Federal Chancellor, the legislature is prevented from working. "
