Gaza writer sent solidarity message to Leyla Güven

"Dear Leyla Güven, you are the icon of struggle and devotion to the poignant meaning of being a woman who opposes all tyrannical human schemes."

Palestinian writer Nayrouz Qarmout, living in Gaza, sent a solidarity message to HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven.

The young Palestinian writer has been telling ANF about the brutal aggression suffered by another writer, Fatah representative in Gaza, Atef Abu Saif.

Nayrouz sent a message to HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven on Newroz day, proud of carrying a name of a Kurdish friend of her mother, Newroz, who fought for the freedom of her land, language and people.

Here is the full message sent by Nayrouz Qarmout:

“I carry the name [Nayrouz, Newroz] of a friend of my mum, a Kurdish woman doctor from Iraq, who fought for human freedom and the unity and independence of her lands. She fought for preserving art and literature in her own language until she reached martyrdom.

Dear Leyla Güven, you are the icon of struggle and devotion to the poignant meaning of being a woman who opposes all tyrannical human schemes.

I give you my name and my Palestine, the cause of land and humanity, and Newroz for Kurdistan, the paradise.”
