Freedom for Öcalan Vigil activists visited hunger strikers

Members of the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil visited hunger strikers in Strasbourg.

Berivan Talay, Kahraman Çelikçel, Mustafa Tuzak and Oktay Akaslan, who have taken over their turn at the Vigil for Öcalan in front of the Council of Europe (Strasbourg), visited hunger strikers.

The Vigil for Öcalan has reached week 343 and is demanding freedom for the Kurdish people’s Leader.

Speaking on behalf of the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil, Berivan Talay called on all Kurdish people to take part in actions against isolation. “We call on our people to stand up, hand in hand to remove the isolation against our Leader.”

Emphasizing that the isolation against Öcalan actually means isolation against 40 million people, Talay underlined that the AKP fascism would be defeated and Öcalan freed.

Talay said the Kurdish people would lose if they don’t stand up. “If we lose, 40 million Kurdish people will lose. If we win, all Kurdish people will win.”

Talay added that the freedom of Öcalan means freedom of the Kurds and the peoples of the Middle East.

Activists on hunger strike underlined the importance of the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in front of the Council of Europe.

The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil has reached week 343 and is the longest Kurdish action to date. It began on 25 June 2012.
