Families on their way to Imralı

Families of Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners on Imralı will be meeting their relatives today.

Families of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners on Imralı, Hamili Yıldırım, Ömer Hayri Konar and Veysi Aktaş, have been allowed access to the island prison today on occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice.

The families had appealed through their lawyers to Bursa Public Prosecutor’s Office on Friday. Receiving a positive answer, families have arrived at Gemlik Gendarmerie Outpost early this morning. Following the procedures here, they set off for Imralı Island Prison from Gemport Port.

Öcalan’s brother Mehmet Öcalan, Hamili Yıldırım’s brother Polat Yıldırım, Ömer Hayri Konar’s brother Emin Konar and Veysi Aktaş’s sister Salihe Saltık will meet with their relatives today.

Öcalan’s tutelar Mazlum Dinç, who had also applied to go to Imralı, was not allowed to meet the Kurdish leader.
