Election violations during the counting of the votes

The AKP-MHP also committed violations during the counting of the votes for the Presidential and Parliamentary elections held yesterday on June 24.

Some more prominent violations committed during the counting of the votes from 17:00 onwards are as follows:

 

- Roads leading to the Supreme Board of Elections (YSK) were cut off by the Metropolitan Municipality owned trucks.

- Witnesses were prevented from observing the counting of the votes in the Anıttepe Anadolu High School, one of the centers where votes were brought together, by police barricades.

- The police didn't allow voters to watch the counting of the votes in the Andiçen Middle School in Sincan, Ankara.

- Doors were locked in the Ali Kuşçu Elementary School in Bağcılar, Istanbul and voters who wanted to watch the counting of the votes were not allowed in.

- In the Cengizhan Anadolu High School in Çeliktepe, Kağıthane (Istanbul) people attempting to vote after voting ended attacked the ballot officers.

- In the Ayvalıdere Elementary School in Esenler, Istanbul, doors were locked and only witnesses were allowed inside.

- In the Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Anadolu Religious High School in Uskudar, Istanbul, voters who wanted to watch the counting of the votes were not allowed inside.

- In the 60. Yıl Anadolu Elementary School in Acıbadem, Istanbul the police locked the doors to the school and didn't allow voters who wanted to watch the counting of the votes inside.

- The District Electoral Board in Şişli, Istanbul was surrounded by the police.

- As the counting of the votes started in Adana, police removed citizens from school yards and threatened HDP witnesses, telling them they "know who they represent".

- In the Zorava village of Van's central Tuşba district, the gendarmerie command said they would count the votes first and then turn them over to the outpost, to be delivered to the YSK.

- In the Yalı Melez neighborhood of Van's Ipekyolu district, witnesses in the school built by the Turkish Bar Associations Union (Türkiye Barolar Birliği - TBB) wanted to watch the counting of the votes, but tensions rose as the police prevented them. The police later attacked the citizens waiting in front of the school with pepper spray and water cannons. The police officers in various schools in the district prevented everybody except for the ballot committee chairs from taking part in the counting of the votes. The same issues came up in the Kevenli TOKİ, Nene Hatun, Van Gölü and Fevzi GEyik High Schools as well while lawyers appealed to the YSK.

- In Hakkari, police stood over the counting of the votes in several schools as voting ended.

- In Tatvan, Bitlis, police prevented everybody except for the ballot committee chairs from taking part in the counting of the votes in various schools.

- CHP'S Gökhan Günaydın stated that for Niğde, the Anadolu Agency announced results despite the inability to count votes in the Provincial Electoral Board due to a fire in the building.

INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEES NOT ALLOWED TO WORK

The two-person committee from France who arrived in Turkey to monitor the elections, and their translator, were detained in the police checkpoint by the entrance of the Ağrı province.
