Diyar Xerib’s mother: I am proud of my son

Martyr Diyar Xerib’s mother Seade Nasir spoke about his son and said she has always been proud of him, and that she will uphold his struggle.

KCK General Presidential Council Member Diyar Xerib was martyred in a Turkish state airstrike against Qandil on July 5. His mother Seade Nasir spoke about him.

Seade Nasir spoke about Martyr Diyar Xerib’s childhood: “He had a beautiful disposition. He was quiet and calm. He was good at school. He would make the honor lists every year. He had memorized the Quran. He treated people well, he especially loved his siblings. He was very sensitive and he loved to share. He found some money in the street once, when he was in elementary school, and he brought it to me to find the owner.”

Seade Nasir said every year when the schools closed Diyar Xerib would go to the village: “He loved staying in the village. He would stay in his grandfather’s home. In Mame Rise there were peshmergas from our village then. Diyar Xerib would go to the peshmergas all the time with his brother Martyr Diler.”

Seade Nasir said Diyar Xerib joined the PKK in 1996: “Before he joined the PKK he worked as a teacher in his village in Qeredax’s Sewsenan town. One day as he left I saw that he was preparing for something. I asked him where he was going and he said he was going to Hewler. I asked why. He said he had something to do, and to tell his father where he was going. 3 months later we learned that he joined the guerrilla. In 1997 he came to visit us. He said he was going to go to Damascus to Leader Apo. We didn’t want him to go. But he insisted. He stayed with Leader Apo for 13 months for training, then he returned to Sulaimaniyah.”

Seade Nasir’s son Diler was also martyred in the 1991 Raperin in Kirkuk. She said she is proud of her children and will never turn away from the struggle for Kurdistan.
