MARSEILLES

Kurds living in Southern French city of Marseilles held a series of demonstrations four four days, in which information tents have been pitched. These activities ended with a march and rally.

Many protestors gathered in Canebiere Square and marched to Vieux-Port Square. Women led the march while holding pictures and banners of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, martyr Zeynep Kinaci (Zîlan) and flags of PKK, YPJ-YPG, TJK-E (Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe).

The demonstrators chanted slogans demanding freedom for Öcalan and raised banners in support of Efrîn. The banners read in French, "Freedom for Öcalan, Efrîn is not alone" and "We are all PKK."

The mass gathered at Vieux-Port Square where an information tent was pitched, whereafter the people chanted the Kurdish national anthem 'Ey Reqib'. Member of Kurdish Democratic Society Centre (NCDK) Azad Şirnexî held a speech and stated that Kurdish forces have put a siege on ISIS in Raqqa which marks the end of ISIS. Şirnexî reminded how Kurdish freedom fighters did not allow Kobanê to fall and said, "They lifted Kobanê to the core for freedom and glory. They will repeat the glory in Raqqa.

We on our part need to speak up against the invasion plans on Efrîn. This passivity needs to end. We need to prepare us to stand up for Efrîn as we did for Kobanê."

Şirnexî condemned the aggravated isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and said: "It's high time that anybody who claim to be follower and admirer of the ideology and philosophy of Öcalan proved it with participation in demonstrations for his freedom."

VIENNA

An information tent was also pitched for the freedom of the Kurdish leader in Austrian capital city Vienna.

The information tent was set up in Vienna's most lively street Christian Broda where the people held a meeting after midday.
