Demonstrations for Efrîn in Germany

In the German cities of Bonn and Minden, the invasion plans of the Turkish state against Rojava's Efrîn Canton have been condemned.

In German city Bonn people from Kurdistan marched from the Friedensplatz until the Marktplatz, where they gathered for a demonstration meeting.

The demo was organized by the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Kurdish Democratic Society Centre and Sara Women's Assembly. During the protest images of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and of the three revolutionaries Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez assassinated in French capital Paris in January 2013, were held high. Also the flag of the PYD was unfurled and slogans like "Dictator Erdogan", "Long Live Leader Apo", "Long Live Efrîn's Resistance" were chanted.

The meeting started with a minute of silence, followed by a speech given by the Co-chair of the European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) Yüksel Koç, commemorating Dr. Abdurrahman Qasimlo who was murdered by the Iranian regime in 1989 in Austria's capital Vienna, as well as the immortal strugglers of the Amed prison martyred on the 14th of July.

Drawing the attention to the attacks against Efrîn, Koç said: "The same defeat the Turkish state suffered in Kobanê, they will also face in Efrîn."

Representative of the PYD in Bonn, Salah Çawiş stated: "We have always resisted in Efrîn, we are resisting now and will resist also in the future."

A demo was organised by the PYD also in German city Minden with a participation of 200 people.

Representatives of the PYD and Co-chair of the Kurdish Democratic Society Centre in Bielefeld held speeches during the meeting and condemned Turkey's invasion plans against Rojava. During the speeches the responsibility the Kurds living in Europe are bearing with respect to the people in Efrîn has been emphasized.
