Demonstrations for Öcalan's freedom in Paris and Geneva

PARIS

People from Kurdistan living in French capital Paris took to the streets to call attention to the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan and to demand his freedom.

The demonstration organized by the Democratic Kurdish Community in France (CDK-F) took place at 19 o'clock in front of the French News Agency (AFP) with the participation of members of the CDK-F and ACTIT representatives.

During the event banners and poster reading demands for Öcalan's freedom were raised and fliers on the aggravated isolation were distributed.

Co-chair of the Democtratic Kurdish Society in Paris Mehmet Ali Yıldız held a speech in which he called on the public community and French media to not remain silent concerning the aggravated isolation imposed on Ocalan.

Yıldız pointed out that until the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan becomes free, they will continue their activities and demonstrations, calling for a strong participation at the march planned for the 8th of July, Saturday at 5pm at the Res Publika Square in Paris.

During the protest a delegation of the activists handed over a detailed file on the isolation imposed on Öcalan to the authorities of the French News Agency (AFP) and the activity ended with the slogans and chants of "Freedom for Ocalan" and "Murderer Erdogan".

GENEVA

In Switzerland's Geneva city a meeting was held for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan'S freedom.

Kurdish demonstrators gathered in front of the headquarter of the United Nations in Geneva and drew together with their friends attention to the aggravated isolation on the Kurdish Leader, demanding his immediate freedom.

In the activity, during which pictures of Öcalan and the flags of the KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union), YPG (People's Defence Units) and YPJ (Women's Defence Units) were heaved, the Co-chair of the Kurdish Democratic Society Centre (NCDK) in Geneva Salih Sağlam held a speech stressing the aggravated isolation on Öcalan and saying: "The freedom of Öcalan is the freedom of the Kurdish people. The Kurds will always take to the streets until Öcalan's freedom is achieved."

The activity ended following the delivery of a file on the issue to the authorities of the United Nations.
