A group of young people protesting against the Turkish state’s use of German weapons in Afrin invasion staged a demonstration at a press conference of German Federal Government.

During the press conference where Federal Government representatives answered journalists’ questions, the young demonstrators opened banners that read “War begins here, let’s defend Afrin”, “Stop arms export, long live the resistance of Afrin, YPG/YPJ”, in protest at the German state providing arms to Turkey.

Demonstrator chanted slogans in German, saying “German tanks out of Kurdistan” and “German weapons and German money kills everywhere in the world”.

The demonstrators ended their protest after hurling leaflets on Afrin to the section of journalists.

Images emerged of German-made Leopard 2A4 tanks being used by Turkey in the invasion operation against Afrin but the government resorted to the lie that they have no insight into the use of Leopard tanks in the operation.

The AKP government of Turkey had made a deal with the German government over the modernization of tanks to fortify their defense against anti-tank missiles. Germany’s approval for the modernization was, however, shelved by the government due to public pressure, on the grounds that this was a “long-term binding decision”.
