The statement published by the International Committee (IC) affiliated to DSA, underlined and harshly condemned the pressure carried out by the AKP-MHP racist government against the HDP. The statement reminded that the immunity of Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu MP was recently lifted and that the HDP faced a demand for closure.

The statement also reminded that most of the HDP elected co-mayors were dismissed and trustees were appointed in their place and underlined that this was a cynical and anti-democratic approach.

The IC finally reiterated its solidarity with all democratic and socialist forces against fascism embodied by the alliance between the AKP and the MHP. The statement called on the over 85,000 members of the DSA to organise solidarity activities with the HDP in their areas.
