Day 23 in Strasbourg hunger strike

The hunger strike launched in Strasbourg, France to protest the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan continues on day 23.

The indefinite and non-alternate hunger strike launched by a large group including former HDP MP Dilek Ocalan and KCDK-E Co-chair Yuksel Koc continues. The hunger strike that demands an end to the isolation imposed upon Ocalan and the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) visit Imrali at once to ensure Ocalan’s health and safety is currently on its 23rd day.

MEDICAL CHECK-UPS

The hunger strikers hold short meetings in the morning and receive medical check-ups from Dr. Fahrettin Gulsen who is in Strasbourg for this purpose. Following a daily check-up, the hunger strikers receive visitors who come from all around Europe.

VISIT BY AACHEN-DUREN POPULAR ASSEMBLY

A large group from Aachen and Duren in NRW, Germany visited the hunger strike today.

“DEMONSTRATIONS AND DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS IN EUROPE MUST INCREASE”

Yuksel Koc spoke to the Aachen-Duren Popular Assembly members and other Kurdish patriots from the region and pointed out that the solution to the issues in Kurdistan and the Middle East is possible only through the Kurdish People’s Leader. Koc stressed that he and all hunger strikers find morale and motivation by this fact and that is the goal that keeps the resistance going.

Koc asked the Kurds in Europe to actively support the demonstrations and stressed that there are more opportunities than ever before today. Koc said widespread public awareness can be achieved through strengthening demonstrations and intensifying any and all diplomatic efforts in Europe.

As this article was being prepared, the activists were visited by a group from Basel, Switzerland and there were several visits planned from various countries including Germany.
