Controversy continues in Muş over deputies won by the HDP

The AKP is trying to alter results.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputies Ayse Acar Başaran, Berdan Öztürk, Meral Danış Beştaş, Gulistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Selçuk Mezraklı and HDP Party Council member Nurten Üzümcü spoke about the irregularities in the vote count in Muş.

At a press conference organised in Muş, Meral Danış Beştaş said: "As HDP we filed many complaints for irregularities of various kind, and they were all rejected. In Muş, the illegalities were clear. The AKP has taken action to obstruct us. After Thursday count it is clear that we have won 3 deputies."

Beştaş stated that the AKP continued with irregularities and fraud as it was not able to get 300 deputies. "As the AKP couldn't win the majority in parliament it continues to make dirty moves.”

Reminding that the Supreme Election Board (YSK) is meeting on Friday also to evaluate the HDP complaints, Beştaş said: "We will see whether the YSK serves the interests of the government or the will of the people."

Gulistan Koçyiğit said: "The AKP does not accept that we got 3 deputies. The AKP did not accept the rejection of its complaints. We expect everybody to comply with the rules. We have to be constantly on guard."

Counting is being carried out also in Varto, Bulanık, Malazgirt, Hasköy. "We will use our democratic legal rights to ensure we get every vote we were given", said Koçyiğit.
