Cizre Storm Operation: 274 mercenaries died in Dishisha

The SDF operation to free Dishisha from DAESH a success

Cizre Storm Operation’s General Chief of Operations Command released a written statement about the liberation of the community in Dishisha. 

In the statement it was reiterated that the operation to free Dishisha begun on 3 June, in the western (Şedade) and eastern (Hol) sides of the area. 
The statement emphasized that an area of Dishisha town and surrounding villages were liberated, as well as the Til Sifuk gate.

On 24 June 2018, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Iraqi forces declared that they had met at the border and that the militia clearing squads had saved hundreds of civilians. Mines lied by DAESH to halt the fighters advance, were cleared by special teams. It was also noted that tunnels excavated by DAESH were found by fighters.

Cizre Storm Operation Command confirmed that both sides used light, medium and heavy weapons in the clashes. It also confirmed that 274 mercenaries were killed and 13 captured. Among the dead were 4 mercenary commanders.

In the statement the Operation Command also stated the weapons and machineries destroyed by the SDF and confirmed that 3 SDF fighters have fallen martyrs in the operation, while 20 were wounded.
