British Democratic Forces Union in solidarity with hunger strikes

Solidarity with the Kurdish hunger strike resistance against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan is growing.

Constituents of the British Democratic Forces Union (DGB), which is comprised of 27 institutions, organised a silent protest in London in solidarity with the Kurdish hunger strike campaign demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

On the main street in Haringey region of London, representatives of the institutions formed a human chain, carrying photos of hunger strike activists and a banner that read “Break isolation, defend life”.

Speaking to ANF following the demonstration, British Democratic Forces Union representatives called for increased protests against the isolation of the Kurdish leader.

The representatives said; “A great scream against darkness, dictatorship, fascism and silence, the indefinite non-alternating hunger strike resistance continues growing on its 151st day. Our people joining the hunger strike have already passed the critical threshold.  The sole demand of the resistance is to ‘break the isolation and silence, act and destroy fascism together’. As British Democratic Forces Union, we call on our people to ensure strong participation in the protests and provide support. Today is the day to support this resistance. The only way out is all-out resistance.”
