At least 27 killed in attack on IRGC forces in southeast Iran

The Sunni militant group announced in a statement that all passengers in the Revolutionary Guards bus were killed in the attack.

The Quds force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps issued a brief statement and reported a suicide bombing against the personnel of the IRGC in the Chanali district located between Khash-Zahedan. Iranian government officials have said at least 40 people were killed and injured in the attack.

The Quds Corps said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber using an explosive device in the vicinity of a bus carrying IRGC personnel, while the Fars News Agency, close to the IRGC, described the cause of the bus blast as a roadside bomb.

The statement by the Revolutionary Guard Corps has not announced the number of deaths and injuries, but the Islamic Republic News Agency has said the death toll is 27, and dozens of injuries.
