Armenia fails to elect Prime Minister

Opposition leader Pashiniyan didn't receive enough votes.

Armenian opposition leader Nikol Pashiniyan received only 45 votes which fell short of the 53 needed to be elected interim prime minister.

The Armenian Parliament, made up 105 deputies did not give Pashiniyan enough support thus showing that the country is sailing on uncharted waters.

Opposition deputy Nikol Pashinian, who led the protesters in Armenia for weeks, had said the country would find itself in a "political tsunami" if Parliament did not choose him as prime minister.

Former President Serj Sarkisyan had to resign from his charge as prime minister last week.
